This past week has been jam-packed with different activities and experiences. On Friday Riley went with Mom and Dad to apply for a passport! She will be quite the little traveler this year, with plans for a week long cruise and a week long trip to London, among others. Saturday she joined the rest of the Kletz family to celebrate Aunt Michelle's and Colton's birthdays. Mom worked from home on Monday and Tuesday, so Riley went to her new daycare for a couple of half days, and she did great! All the teachers raved about how cute and alert she is, and said that she spent most of the day watching and smiling at all the other babies. Monday was also Passover, so she headed to Nene and Papa's to join in the festivities. Tuesday was Colton's birthday and she went to his house to celebrate with him. She then went to her first two full days of daycare on Wednesday and Thursday without a hitch, and here we are! Tonight we are preparing for our trip to Florida so she can meet some very special people for the first time!

A little trip to NY
Riley spent her weekend enjoying some St. Patty's Day festivities with friends and family, including a parade and a cookout at Davy's house. After a quick visit to Nene and Papa's, it was time to prepare for her big trip - a plane ride to see her Marion friends and family (and meet some of them for the first time!). She was a HUGE hit, and showed off her personality with tons of smiles and cuddles. She also did very well on the plane, sleeping most of the time but making some friends along the way as well. Here's a bunch of pictures to show what she was up to this week:

2 Months Old
Today was Riley's 2 month doctor appointment, and (unfortunately!) her first round of shots as well. She weighed in at 10 lbs 6 oz and is now 22 3/4 inches long. The doc said he was very surprised at how alert and aware she is, and also said she has very good head control for her age.
At 2 months, Riley has been changing tremendously from week to week. When supported in a sitting position, she can hold her head up and look around. And when held in a standing position, she can put a nice bit of weight on her feet. She smiles ALOT, and is starting to like holding onto and looking at some of her toys. She has recently "discovered" her fist and loves to suck on it to pass the time. She takes only cat naps during the day, and has some difficulty getting to sleep at night...but once she does fall asleep she sleeps in 3-4 hour stretches, only waking to eat and go right back down. Finally, she has started to pay alot of attention to Ski, who likes to give her tons of kisses.

Bonding with the cousins
We closed out a fun weekend with a family dinner with Nene, Papa, Gigi, Michelle, Josh, and of course cousins Colton and Levi, who are very fond of little Riley. She got plenty of kisses from everyone and even a little back scratch from Colton :) Today we made a little trip to Nene's house for some cuddle time, and Riley really liked trying out her very comfy bouncy chair.

Play date
Phew...it's been another long week with plenty of activities! Besides some more of the usual errands, lunches and dinners, Riley was lucky enough to have another play date with the babies of two of Mom's friends from work. The babies "played" and did tummy time together while the moms ate and watched a movie. Since the rest of the week was pretty standard, here are a bunch of pictures to show how Riley spent her time this week:

New adventures
This week Riley has kept busy as usual! On Tuesday she stayed with Dad while Mom made her long-awaited return to the gym. :) On Wednesday she made a visit to Nene's house, then met Dad for lunch and later went to the park, where she and Ski went for a nice walk. Ski got so muddy that they both ended up getting baths when they got home. Thursday she had a doctor's appointment in the morning to check out a red bump on her belly button (which was easily treated in the doc's office and should clear up in the next 2 weeks), and we also found out she is up to 9 lbs 13 oz! Later on, she joined Dad and the Kletz clan at the final ODU basketball game of the season (sporting her Monarchs gear of course!). And in other news, Riley has been practicing taking naps in her crib, and has even started sleeping in there for the first shift at night, typically for 4-5 hours before she wakes up to eat and moves to her bed in Mom and Dad's room for the rest of the night.
