Pittsburgh trip: May 9-12

Well, our little girl has officially reached the age of 16 months! It is safe to say that she is now sleeping through the night (11+ hours) consistently, and has quite the fun personality. She has crazy hair (so curly that we don't know what to do with it half the time!), and is always talking. Some of the new words she says are bubbles, nose, shoe, walk and banana. She's always so proud of herself when we understand and repeat back what she is saying to us. She has become really good at navigating the stairs, and likes to hold onto our hands and go up or down them while standing up, rather than climbing on all fours. She loves to play outside, swim, go for walks, read books, give Ski hugs and kiss, and help us set the table for dinner and cleanup afterwards. She has 11 teeth and loves food, although she can be picky at times about what she eats. Another thing she loves to do is play with our phones. She knows how to slide the screen to open it up and scroll through the pages to find the apps that she likes. In addition to the videos she likes on the Babyfirst app, she loves to open the Baby Sign language app and just scroll through and watch the babies saying words and doing the sign. It cracks her up!

This past week was spent getting ready for our Pittsburgh trip. The day before we left was really hot out, so Mom and Riles went to Nene and Papa's to take advantage of their pool! Gigi was there too, and once Riles got used to the water she had a blast splashing around and going up and down the steps. Then it was off to Pittsburgh to meet up with Nana, Richard and UC! Riles had so much fun hanging out with them all weekend. They went swimming a few times, walked around downtown, rode up and down the incline, and visited some museums. At night she stayed with Lizard while the adults headed to the casino for a bit. The next night she hung out with Nana while Mom and Dad had dinner and went to a Pirates game. After they returned to VA, the weather was hot. Riles decided to beat the heat by splashing around in her pool. Wednesday she got some playtime in at the library and picked out some new books. Here's some pics to show what she's been up to!
