This week was pretty much the same as usual, with Riles going to daycare during the day and spending her time with Mom and Dad in the evening before bed. And speaking of bed, her sleep regression only lasted a couple nights before she was back to sleeping about 5 hour increments. Tuesday was picture day at daycare, so Riles got dressed up in an outfit she got from her Aunt Lizard and put on her best smile. Wednesday she joined Dad, Mom, Ski, Trudy and Caden for a walk around the ODU campus. Then this weekend she spent some time with Dad while Mom joined some friends at the gym and for breakfast afterward. At night she met Gigi, Davy, Michelle and Maisy out for dinner, and on Sunday she went for a walk with Mom and Ski to get Ski's nails clipped. On Monday, Mom got a surprise call at work from daycare asking her to come pick Riley up. Turns out she has a yeast infection called thrush which causes white patches on the tongue and inside the mouth. We got a prescription from the doctor and it should start to clear up within a couple days. It doesn't seem to bother Riley at all, and she'll be back at daycare in the morning!

Sleep regression
This week Riles has had a couple dinner dates, first with Gigi and then with Nene and Papa. She also got her first pair of shoes and got to go outside while she was at daycare! The rest of her time has been spent practicing sitting up, which she much prefers now over laying down. She has also started to reach for and grab her toys, putting them in her mouth of course. At night, we are going through some challenges as Riley has been waking up every 2 hours pretty consistently for the last few nights. She then doesn't go right back down like she has in the past. We are hoping this phase passes quickly!

3 Months Old
Well, it's time for another update because Riley is now 3 months old! She weighs approximately 11 1/2 pounds and is overall a very active baby. She has found her fists and really enjoys putting them in her mouth and sucking on her fingers as well. She definitely recognizes her Mom and Dad, and lets us know with a very big smile! We have also heard one or two giggles when she's in a really good mood. At night, she typically sleeps from about 8pm to 7am, waking up 1-2 times to eat and going right back to sleep. Her longest stretch of sleep is anywhere from 5-7 hours. She is getting steadier while sitting up and can do so with minimal support. Her newest talent is "talking", and she is constantly practicing making all different kinds of sounds.
This week, Riles (as we affectionately call her) has thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful weather, joining her friends Trudy and Caden for a walk around the ODU campus, and chilling outside in her bouncer while Dad did some yard work. She unfortunately also had her first fever, but after a little medicine and lots of rest, it went away quickly and she was back to her smiling self.

To Florida...and beyond..
It's been a while since the last update, and the last 10 days have been quite the whirlwind. We had a wonderful trip to Florida, where Riley got to meet "Big" Papa, Doris, Aunt Debbie, Uncle Tony, and cousins Erin, Drew and Alivia. She really took to Big Papa, even "talking" to him for quite awhile. We hadn't seen her do that with anyone before! On Monday, daycare was closed so Riley got a special treat when Gigi offered to take her for the day! She even got to take a trip to the zoo with her Aunt Michelle and her cousins, and afterwards met Mom out for some lunch. The rest of the week went pretty smoothly at daycare, with daily visits from Mom on her lunch break (except for Friday when Mom went out to lunch with some friends from work). The weekend was jam-packed as well, with Riley attending Colton's 3rd(!) birthday party, having dinner out with Joey and Leah, and going to both Mom's and Colton's first soccer games. The weather has vastly improved, so she even got a little sun this weekend and got to hang out on the front porch for awhile.
